7 Weeks Old… and We’re Not Okay… :)

Somebody may need to check on us because we are NOT emotionally stable right now. These Golden babies are officially 7 weeks old, and that means we’re one week closer to heartbreak—I mean—puppy pickups.

And to make matters worse? We already had to say goodbye to our Mini Aussie crew this week. So yes, our hearts are hanging on by a thread.

They’re in their final stretch with us, and let me tell you…

This is the week where we fall even harder for them, and seriously start second guessing why we don’t just keep them all and live surrounded by chaos and hair tumbleweeds forever. (Don’t tempt us. We’ve thought it through.)

This week is all about refinement—

• Crate training

• Confidence building

• Sound desensitization

• Exposure to grooming, car rides, and different environments

• Major emotional attachment to every single one of them? BIG check.

• One-on-one training

They’ve grown from sleepy little potatoes into bright, happy, loyal, loving, people-focused puppies—and their personalities are really starting to shine. Some are total velcro babies. Some are thinkers. Some are comedians. And some… are all three. But all these little snuggle monsters have those soul-gazing eyes that make you seriously consider canceling all future plans and just living in a pile of puppies forever. Because, Why not?

And can we just talk about their parents?

Darla, our calm, wise, soft-hearted mama with the most nurturing spirit.

Bingo, the goofy, show-stopping teddy bear of a dad with the kind of temperament we dream of preserving in this breed.

These babies got the best of both worlds: beauty, brains, and that classic Golden Retriever heart. This pairing was over two years in the making. Every health test, every evaluation, every decision that led to these babies—worth it. They are exactly what we hoped for and more! These are the kind of Golden puppies that families have been dreaming of, and the kind we fell in love with. And now, we get to share them with families who’ve been waiting for this breeds infamous love and connection.

We believe that raising a dog “right” doesn’t start when they go home—it starts the minute they’re born. We don’t raise puppies like they’re leaving us—we raise them like they’re staying. And when they go… it does kind of wreck us. But the reward comes when we see you guys so happy and in love with your baby!

So if you see us ugly crying into a blanket of Golden fluff that we saved over the last few weeks,… just let it happen. LOL. We’ll be fine. Eventually. Probably. Hopefully.
